Hornet Volleyball Finishes Play 4-0 at Oglethorpe Invite

Oglethorpe, GA - The Lynchburg College volleyball team won two more matches Sunday at the Oglethorpe Invitational - bringing its record to 4-0 on the young season.

The Hornets defeated Huntingdon 28-30, 30-23, 30-26, 30-22 in the first match. Katie Warlick (Stafford, VA/Colonial Forge) tallied 15 kills and 13 digs, Amanda Walsh (Forest, VA/Heritage) posted 13 kills and Michelle Boucher (Chesapeake, VA/Nansemond Suffolk) had 10 kills and 16 digs. Chelsea Jones (Richmond, VA/Monacan) contributed nine kills, Dara Sandifer (Monroe, VA/Holy Cross) posted 50 assists and 12 digs, and Savannah Tinsley (Lynchburg, VA/E.C. Glass) had 34 digs. Kylie Lucas (Verona, VA/Fort Defiance) recorded seven blocks.

Lynchburg also defeated Piedmont College in four games 30-25, 29-31, 30-22, 30-22. Warlick compiled 14 kills, 17 digs and four blocks, Boucher posted 13 kills and Jones and Walsh each had 10 kills. Ashley Martin (Charlottesville, VA/Western Albemarle) had 19 digs and Tinsley had 15.

LC (4-0) travels to the Greensboro College Invitational next Friday and Saturday.
