Network Username and Password
Network Accounts
When a student is initially enrolled at Lynchburg College a network and email accounts will be created. A username and password is assigned automatically. One's initial password will be his/her social security number or college identification number with no dashes or spaces. (Students may request a unique college identification number if they do not wish for their Social Secuirty number to be associated with their college identification.)
This same username and password will be used to log into student email, studentsonline, and off-campus library access.
It is recommended that one change his/her password upon arrival at Lynchburg College.
To Change Your Network Password
- Sign on to any campus computer.
- Go to myLC.lynchburg.edu
- Login to myLC.
- Select the technology link in the left navigation bar on the home page of myLC.
- Select a new password and fill out the form Password Change form, which is the first tab. Dots or Asterisks will appear as you type your old and new password.s Some thoughts regarding your new password:
- It must be at least six characters long.
- It cannot contain spaces or punctuation.
- It is case sensitive. For example, if you select "Freddy" as your new password, you will always need to type the uppercase "F" and the lowercase "reddy" when you log on.
- It should not be easily guessed... things like your name or nickname, student ID number, phone number, etc., are bad choices.
- Be sure to fill in all the boxes on this page. Typing your new password twice helps you make certain that the keyboard did not malfunction while you were typing.
- Click Change Password. Please keep all passwords confidential.
NOTE: Changing your network password will affect your Moodle login password. The Moodle system is connected to other network resources.
The username and password you have been given, together with your ID card, are your personal keys to a variety of valuable Information Technology Services.
