Access (Adult) Application Steps
Access (adult) students are 25 years of age or older.
Please note that at this time, we do not offer online courses and we are only able to offer a small number of evening courses.
If you are transferring from another school, you must be in good academic and social standing and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher for any college courses.
Competitive applicants have typically completed college-level coursework in mathematics (at or above the Algebra II level), English composition, history for western/world civilizations, and any additional general education subject areas. The admissions committee may consider both the high school and college record in reviewing applicants.
Access undergraduate students receive a tuition discount: tuition is $430 per credit hour.
Step 1: Apply
Fall semester: July 31
Spring semester: November 30
Applications submitted after these deadlines will be considered depending upon space availability.
Step 2: Submit Your Application Materials
Send the application materials with your application, or separately via mail.
The following are required in order to complete your application:
- Official college transcripts
Transcripts must be mailed directly from the registrar's office of each college/university you have attended. Concealing previous attendance at a post-secondary institution is considered an honor code violation and will result in the cancellation of your application and admission.
- Official high school transcripts or GED results
Required only if you have taken less than 25 credit hours of graded coursework at the college level.
- $30 application fee (for paper applications only)
The items below are strongly recommended, but they are not required. These items can be sent via mail, or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org:
- Letter of recommendation
From a college professor, employer, or someone who can speak to your ability to succeed at LC. There is no special form required.
- Personal essay
Discuss your personal goals and reasons for wanting to attend Lynchburg College.
- Admission Counseling
You can receive your unofficial transfer credit evaluation during your visit. Call us at 800.426.8100, ext. 8300 to schedule an appointment.
Once we receive your application and application materials, we'll review them and contact you to let you know of our decision or about any additional items we need.
In the meantime, transfer applicants can get to know the transfer process at LC a little better with the Transfer Student Guide.
