Experience/Background
My experiences prior to coming to Lynchburg College in 1980 have been wide and varied. I served as a special education teacher of young children with moderate and severe disabilities in schools and institutions within Pennsylvania. Working for a university grant project in Florida developing an infant-family program included extensive experience in working in neonatal intensive care units. I was the founder and first director of Project Daniel, an intervention program in Central Virginia. Our program served infants/toddlers with disabilities and their families. I have coordinated the Early Childhood Special Education and Severe Disabilities Program, Program Director for the Special Education Program, Director of Field Experiences and Director of the Technical Assistance Center, which was a grant-funded project of the Virginia Department of Education, which serves area professionals with students with disabilities
