Donna is known on campus as the “Dream Lady” because of her ability to help others better understand themselves through the study of their dreams. She enjoys helping students find ways to de-stress using guided imagery, meditation, creative visualization, and other relaxation techniques. She works with students on a full range of issues but particularly enjoys working with relationships, anxiety, family, and motivation issues.

When Donna is away from work she enjoys gardening, spending time with her three sons, and relaxing in the hot tub.

Tara originally came to Lynchburg College in the fall of 2004 and spent four years working with students in various roles in Student Development. After obtaining her master’s degree in counseling she became a family counselor in a private agency.

Tara re-joined the Student Development staff in the Counseling Center at Lynchburg College in the spring of 2010. Tara enjoys helping college students work through a broad range of issues such as substance abuse, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

Away from the office Tara enjoys all things outdoors and reading.

Emily Woody, MEd, LPC

Emily Woody began her experience with Lynchburg College in 2006 when she enrolled in the Community Counseling Program in the School of Education and Human Development. Emily worked in Residence Life as a hall director until she obtained her Masters of Education in 2008.

After completing her masters degree, she worked with children and their families by providing intensive in-home services through a private counseling agency in Lynchburg. In 2009, she began working for the local Community Services Board by providing counseling and case management services to children, adolescents, and their families experiencing a broad range of issues, specifically during moments of crisis. Emily obtained her licensure for Professional Counseling in 2013.

Emily looks forward to helping students with a wide variety of interests and concerns as well as facilitating their transition in the college environment. In her spare time, Emily enjoys reading, being a mommy to an adventurous toddler, and spending time with her family and pets.


Gina Wright, MEd

Gina began her experience at Lynchburg College by enrolling in the Graduate Program in Community Counseling after deciding to make a career change from the business world to a profession dedicated to helping others.

Since 2003, Gina has worked for non-profit agencies providing services to adults, children, and families with a broad range of issues, including trauma and abuse. Gina is excited about helping college students navigate the many challenges they face during an important time in their lives.

Gina enjoys time with her family, being a mom, reading, and the outdoors.

Jamie began her experience at Lynchburg College as a student, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in health promotion. She then went on to receive her Master’s Degree in sports management from East Stroudsburg University. Following her schooling, she began her career as the Membership Coordinator and Front Desk Supervisor for Courtside Athletic Club. After four years, Jamie took some time off to begin raising her two children and is now back to work full time with us.

Jamie has always enjoyed working with people and helping others. When not at work, she enjoys spending time at home with her family and friends.

Marie Taylor, MEd

Administrative Assistant

Marie began working at Lynchburg College at the start of the Fall 2014 semester. She received her Bachelors degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from James Madison University, and her Masters degree in Elementary Education from Old Dominion University.

Following her schooling, she worked for the Old Dominion University Distance Learning office at CVCC, as well as for Lynchburg City Schools. In her time working for ODU, Marie realized how much she enjoyed working in the higher education setting, and was excited to accept a position in the Health and Counseling Center here at Lynchburg College.

In her free time Marie enjoys hiking, running, reading, and working in her yard.
