The annual Staff Recognition Awards program has been established to recognize the significant contributions of staff employed at Lynchburg College. Three awards will be presented annually to members of the Lynchburg College staff whose cumulative activities demonstrate exceptional service and contributions to the College.
The Staff Recognition Awards Committee for the Staff Recognition Awards is inviting nominations for the 2007-2008 awards. Recipients of these awards will be eligible to receive:
- recognition at the annual Trustee, Faculty and Staff Dinner;
- presentation of a plaque commemorating their honor;
- a monetary award of $1,000; and
- public recognition with recipients' names listed on a permanent plaque displayed on campus.
Members of the Staff Recognition Awards Committee is comprised of past award winners. This committee will review all nominations and make recommendations to the President's Selection Committee for approval.
Eligibility:
All members of the staff are eligible for consideration, including full-time, regular part-time, part-time, and temporary staff, with the following exceptions: faculty with staff responsibilities, president, deans, and vice-presidents. Previous recipients will be subject to a 5-year waiting period before becoming eligible for another award. Normally, one would have three years of service to the College.
Categories:
One award will be presented in each of the following categories:
- Iva Burford Administrative/Managerial/Leadership (exempt positions)
Assistant/associate deans, managers, directors, etc., from all units - Lois Daniel Office/Administrative/Technical Support (non-exempt positions)
Secretaries, administrative assistants, clerks, coordinators, information technology support, health services, etc., from all units - Minnie Johnson Service Support (non-exempt positions)
Food service (dining services, Westover), physical plant, environmental services
Nominations:
Written nominations will be accepted from any member of the campus community for each of the three award categories. Persons preferring to submit oral nominations may contact Human Resources for assistance. Nomination forms for the three award categories are available to the left on this page. Additional pages may be attached that the nominator feels would be beneficial to the Selection Committee in determining award recipients. Self-nominations are also accepted.
Persons Nominated:
Those persons who are nominated will be contacted to verify acceptance of the nomination and may be asked to supply additional supporting information to be used by the committee during deliberations.
