St. Lucia - Lynchburg College Partnership
Lynchburg College began a partnership with the nation of St. Lucia in 2003. Since then, we have collaborated on a teacher training program in special education and a school counselor training program, both provided on-site in St. Lucia.
On-site Program in St. Lucia
Lynchburg College will open an on-site program on the island of St. Lucia in the spring of 2014. Course offerings will be designed to respond to educational needs in St. Lucia as well as other countries within the Eastern Caribbean.
The instruction format will be primarily face-to-face with support through Lynchburg College's Internet resources.
Special preliminary course offerings for this summer will include:
- Risk management (part of the MBA program)
- Grief, loss, and trauma counseling (part of the advanced counseling certificate courses)
Areas of Study
Both undergraduate and graduate areas of study are under consideration.
Please take the program survey to indicate your interest in specific graduate programs and respond to proposed course schedules.
For more information, see the Partnership FAQs or send your questions to LCInSt.Lucia@lynchburg.edu.

Scholarships for St. Lucians
In support of this partnership, LC provides significant scholarship opportunities to St. Lucian students who continue their studies at our campus in Virginia. LC has also established a special tuition scholarship program (with a significant discount in rate) for all citizens of St. Lucia who enroll at LC.
Service Learning in St. Lucia
Beginning in 2008, students from LC have spent approximately 2 weeks each summer engaged in service learning projects throughout the nation of St. Lucia. These students have come from a variety of academic programs: education, special education, nursing, international relations, and communication studies.
