You can change the life of exceptional learners and also serve as a resource to others who work with them. In fact, you can influence an entire school to differentiate instruction and meet the needs of every student.
Major and Minor
The major (BS degree) in interdisciplinary studies - teacher education with an emphasis in special education leads to licensure or prepares you for graduate study.
We also offer a minor in special education. The minor is not a licensure program.
What Will I Study?
The major is built around professional education and special education courses as well as interdisciplinary studies such as psychology, math, and science. You'll get practical experience with a semester of full-time student teaching, and you'll be well prepared to pass the tests required for licensure.
What Kind of Job Can I Get?
You will be prepared to teach special education students in grades K-12 in public or private school settings.
