Assistant Director – First Year Programs Transfer & Access Student Success


Lynchburg College is accepting applications for a full-time Assistant Director of First-Year Programs for Transfer and Access Student Success who will join the Academic and Career Services team.  Responsibilities include planning and executing new student orientation programs, advising, teaching courses designed to support student success, counseling students on academic probation, supervising peer education leaders and tracking progress of students and acting as a liaison to community colleges.  The successful candidate should be comfortable with computer software applications.  Excellent presentation/communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and support a team effort are critical.  Some evening and weekend work is required.  A master’s degree in higher education or related field and 3-5 years of experience is required. Selected candidate must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the College.
