Associate Director of International Admissions

 

Lynchburg College invites applications for the position of Associate Director of International Admissions. The Associate Director of International Admissions plays a critical role in Lynchburg College’s efforts to intentionally expand the recruitment and enrollment of students from outside the United States. This position oversees the strategic recruitment plan, (inclusive of being the primary traveler for the College), admission review of applicants, relationship management with schools and counselors and represents Lynchburg College in professional organizations that focus on international students.

 

Travel – extensive travel for the recruitment of students to Lynchburg College; group and individual travel; professional meetings and organizations.

 

Admission Review – serve as the primary evaluator of international applicants in the admission selection process, for both first year and transfer students; charged with the responsibility of meeting enrollment targets.

 

International Recruitment Planning – strategically create, modify and be responsible for the recruitment plan that best serves the needs of the College, which includes recruitment travel, participation in professional meetings/organizations, correspondence with respective students, and management of relationships with secondary school counselors.

 

Bachelor’s Degree with at least 3 years of experience in serving as primary representative of a college/university to the international educational community. At least one year of admissions experience preferred. Familiarity with admission trends, student mobility, credentialing and academic preparation through a variety of educational systems is helpful. Ability to speak languages beyond English is a benefit.  Excellent written and oral communication skills and collaboration skills required.

 

The professional will join an enthusiastic enrollment team that has exceeded its new student enrollment goals for the past 10 years.  This professional will have the opportunity to build an international recruitment plan from past and present strengths of international marketing efforts and a high level of collaboration campus-wide.  Selected candidate must pass a background check that is satisfactory to the College.

 

The Vice President for Enrollment, Rita Detwiler, will be available for individual meetings at the upcoming OACAC conference at Marist College.
