Dr. Cynthia B. Ramsey

Dr. Cynthia B. Ramsey (ramsey.c@lynchburg.edu), Assistant Professor of Music

Dr. Ramsey received her Bachelor of Music Education (1985) from James Madison University, her Master of Music Education from Shenandoah Conservatory (2005), and Doctor of Musical Arts in Music Education at Shenandoah Conservatory (2008). Dr. Ramsey taught in the Bedford County Public School System for twenty years where she served as director of band and/or taught algebra one at Liberty High School.

She is currently an assistant professor at Lynchburg College where she coordinates the Class Piano Program, teaches elementary and secondary music education courses, and music history. She serves as the piano accompanist for many of Lynchburg College’s music majors and minors, performing recitals and concerts throughout the school year. Dr. Ramsey has served as a clinician and adjudicator for marching and concert festivals statewide. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she serves as organist and handbell director at First Christian Church, Lynchburg.
