Required Prerequisite Courses

Since many programs have different, yet definite pre-requisites, it is advised that a student investigate several PT Schools of choice and obtain the prerequisites of the schools prior to application.

Most programs prefer a strong background in liberal arts and general education courses.

Other Admission Requirements

Most programs do an initial screening of all applicants. The important components of the screening include:

  • All prerequisites are fulfilled.
  • GPA
  • GRE
  • Work experience in the field in internship hours or volunteer work.

It is also suggested that students look for a variety of settings to fulfill the voluntary/internship work experience hours (acute care, orthopedics, geriatrics, etc.)

Admissions Standardized Test: GRE

The average scores of admitted students are 580 quantitative, 490 verbal, and 580 analytical.

GPA: 3.0-3.2 required as a minimum for many schools. Obviously, the higher the GPA, the better the chance for success in the initial screens.
