Degrees and Certifications

  • B.A. Dickinson College

Professional Interests/Research

My professional interests are related to policy issues in the fields of mental retardation and learning disabilities and curriculum and methodological issues relative to special education in general. I have served on the Committee on Terminology and Classification for the American Association on Mental Retardation, and thus I have a good deal of interest in definitional issues in that field. My research in terms of school issues has included attention to the areas of homework, grading, and testing. My publications include twelve textbooks and approximately 100 articles in professional journals.
