University of Lynchburg student organizations have a new way to promote their events while also cutting back on campus-wide emails.
The Office of Student Activities has adopted “Check I’m Here,” an app that provides a portal for posting and learning information about events across campus. It also has tools for tracking attendance at events and gathering information that clubs need.
Here are a few features and tools available through Check I’m Here:
The University of Lynchburg Events app
Available in the Apple App Store and Google Play for Android devices, the University of Lynchburg Events app makes it easy to find out what events are coming up on campus.
Web dashboard
Events and activities on campus can be seen on the mobile app or at Lynchburg.checkimhere.com. Club and organization leaders can log in to create events and forms that will be posted to the site. To get access to the dashboard for your organization, email Tom DiRoma, assistant director of student involvement.
Forms
Organizations can take advantage of the program’s forms to allow people to register for events, apply for club positions, and more.
Attendance records
The check-in app for events is free and is available either on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The Check I’m Here app captures an image of the barcode on the back of the student ID and records the attendees information, giving activity organizers information about who is attending events.
“By partnering with Check I’m Here, we are giving student organizations a dynamic way to promote their events and communicate with the student body, as well as creating one place where all students can discover events on campus,” said DiRoma. “We hope that this will help make it easier for more students to get involved in clubs and activities around campus.”
DiRoma will offer training to student organizations wishing to use Check I’m Here. To request training, fill out this form on the Check I’m Here portal.
