The University of Lynchburg athletic department is partnering with ESPN Radio on a deal that will broadcast men’s and women’s basketball and men’s lacrosse this season over stations in the Lynchburg, Roanoke and Danville area.
ESPN Radio in Lynchburg/Roanoke/Danville is part of the Virginia Talk Radio Network, which also features FM News/Talk stations in Lynchburg/Roanoke/Danville.
The partnership will also feature a University of Lynchburg Coaches’ Show that will inform listeners on what is happening on campus from an insider’s perspective.
Gary Burns, CEO of 3 Daughters Media and the Virginia Talk Radio Network, said, “We are excited to partner with University of Lynchburg to be able to broadcast their coaches’ show along with play-by-play of key games, and also be able to profile coaches, professors, students and athletes from this fine college in our area. This is exactly what we had in mind when we created the Virginia Talk Radio Network: the ability to work on a local and community level to make everyone aware of all the great people and events that are in our region.”
Lynchburg athletic director Jon Waters said the partnership not only gets the word out there about the athletic programs at LC, but allows fans to connect in a new, dynamic way.
“ESPN and the VA Talk Radio Network provide a great way for us to connect with our fans and community,” Waters said. “Our coaches’ show and game broadcasts will not only allow us to share what our student-athletes and teams are doing, but will provide another platform to communicate about all of the amazing things going on in all parts of the Hornet Nation.”
The games will be broadcast on the following:
In Lynchburg:
93.3 FM
ESPN 1320 AM
In Roanoke (if no other conflicting broadcasts):
