Master of Education
More than 2,500 educators and counselors in Central Virginia are graduates of LC's M.Ed. program.
The M.Ed. offers a wide variety of options including:
- Opportunities for teachers who want to pursue additional study, obtain licensure, change career focus
- Initial training for those preparing for a teaching career
All licensure programs are approved by the Virginia Department of Education.

Thompson Hall, renovated in 2008, houses the graduate and undergraduate education programs.
Six concentrations of study comprise the M.Ed. program:
- Counselor Education including: Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling
- Curriculum and Instruction
- Educational Leadership
- Reading
- Science Education
- Special Education
Classes are offered primarily in the evenings and during the summer to accommodate work schedules.
