Interlibrary Loan Policies and Procedures
Requests for items not held by the Knight-Capron Library may be made by:
- Filling out an ILL form at the Reference Desk
- Online
- Directly from within a number of the library's online databases.

Delivery and Return of items
For Faculty:
- During the school year, once the library's student employees have returned to work, returnable items are delivered to faculty offices
- Or they may be picked up at the Circulation Desk at any time the library is open.
- Items must be returned to the Circulation Desk.
- Copies of articles are typically delivered as a PDF attachment to an email.
- Paper copies will be provided at the faculty member's request.
For Students:
- Returnable items must be picked up at the Circulation Desk.
- Items must be returned to the Circulation Desk.
- Copies of articles are typically deleviered as PDF attachments to an email.
Renewals
Requests for renewals should be made prior to the due date given on the front of the book. Repeatedly returning materials late may result in revocation of borrowing privileges.
Delivery Time
The time needed to obtain materials from other libraries varies from one day to approximately two weeks, depending on the lending institution.
Fees
The Knight-Capron library does not charge for the Interlibrary Loan service. However, some lending libraries do charge. If it is not possible to get the item without incurring a fee, you will be contacted before a request is placed.
