Adjunct Instructor of Art - Graphic Design

The Department of Art at Lynchburg College is accepting applications for an appointment to Adjunct Instructor of Art- Graphic Design for spring semester 2015. An MFA or MA is required. Industry experience and an active record of achievement is a plus.

Responsibilities include teaching introductory and intermediate level undergraduate graphic design classes. Professional experience and/or college level teaching preferred. Knowledge of Mac OS, Adobe Creative Suite, print production and digital based media is required.  Candidate’s portfolio should reflect expertise and efficiency in both print and web and have work that demonstrates proficiency of typography and design aesthetics. Knowledge of time-based motion graphics and video art is a plus.

Candidate will be expected to communicate well with students and demonstrate teaching effectiveness. Candidates must also have knowledge of design theory and historical and contemporary trends in graphic design. Must be self-motivated; possess a good work ethic with excellent verbal and written skills, as well as the ability to work as a team member with others in the Art Department. Candidate must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the College.
