History is in many ways the most inclusive of disciplines. Everything and everybody has a history. Learning the historian's craft provides skills needed for a successful public life in government, in business, or in a profession.

Like any liberal arts major, history develops skills of analysis, synthesis, writing, and speaking. But only history is the study of change over time. It heightens your sensitivity to the uniqueness of individual personalities and of significant human events.

History at Lynchburg College offers a stimulating and rigorous program that provides opportunities for exposure to all aspects of history in a friendly, personal, and supportive setting. The history program has close ties with the interdisciplinary major in international relations and the minor in medieval and Renaissance studies.

The History Program is located in the History House, 505 Brevard Street, behind the Library.
