Note: Although Netbooks and iPad-like computing devices provide enhanced portability and functionality, they may not be able to meet all of the computing needs of a student. If you choose to purchase one of these devices, it should be viewed as a supplemental device to one of the recommended computers.

If You Are Bringing a Used Computer
Supported Minimum Computer Configuration for Students (if you are bringing a computer from home):
- Intel Core Duo or equivalent [PC or Macintosh] (2.0 GHz or higher for laptops)
- 2 gigabytes RAM
- 160 gigabyte Hard Drive
- DVD/CD-RW drive
- Windows XP Professional or Mac OS 10 (X)
- Microsoft Office 2003 or Microsoft Office 2004 for Macs
- 10/100 network adapter
- Ethernet network cable (recommended length - 25 ft)
- Anti-virus software - ** REQUIRED** (The College provides free AVG anti-virus software for students with PC's.)
Connecting to the College Network
Information / instructions on connecting to the College’s network will be provided during the Fall check-in. You will need a network cable (exact specifications are above) for your residence hall room or a wireless network card for College-owned houses.
