Some Down Time

Posted on 11/17/2009

This week has been perhaps the most laid back week of the entire year. This weekend, for once, I have had absolutely no obligations. Nothing to do- no homework, no papers, no projects... nothing. So what did I do? I went out and bought Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Then I sat there and played it for about two days straight. Trust me, sometimes you need to unwind like that. And if you think I'm a geek, trust me I have nothing on about half the guys on this campus. Many of them have already put 20+ hours into the game, and it just came out on Tuesday! What does that mean? I suspect that it means they've missed a couple classes for it.

Other than that the campus hasn't been too busy lately either. There have been a few things: an open house this weekend, which was fun and the biggest open house we've ever had; a "sleep-out" in the dell for people to raise awareness about the homeless, and 5 of the 6 fall varsity teams on campus received bids to the NCAA tournament! Not bad right? The only downside to the tournament bids is that it means we won't be seeing some of our friends on campus for a while. The coaches usually have pretty strict rules about what they can and can't do during this time, but you athletes out there understand, don't you?

Other than that, it's been great just to unwind. I'm fully refreshed and ready to go for Monday. I wish I had more to ramble to you all about, but as I said, it's been a pretty slow weekend. And thank goodness.

Greg
