Holiday Cheer...?

Posted on 11/17/2009

Merry Christmas! Oh...wait it's not that holiday. Could have fooled me with the radio playing Christmas songs and the stores putting out holiday type things! I feel as though our country just doesn't care about one of my all time favorite holidays! It makes me sad, fellow readers, that a day dedicated to thanking those we love, being thankful for what we have, and perhaps even thankful for what is to come, has been lost in consumerism. But I digress, somewhat. I cannot wait for Thanksgiving break. This year we finally get an entire week off (compared to the usual "long weekend" I've been used to) and I couldn't be more excited! Something about not having to drive with the entire population of the east coast on the day before Thanksgiving makes me happy inside.

Luckily, my teachers must also be excited as the amount of work due this week is minimal, giving me time to relax and enjoy the company of my housemates, who seem to be inundated with work. Again, I digress. What I wanted to talk briefly about was this weekend's Open House! One word to describe it: success. Why was it such a success you ask? I was told it's the largest open house to date, and my group was just amazing! There is nothing better in my eyes than a group that asks questions and is involved in the tour. Now, if you're a shy one, which I was on tours when I was looking for schools, don't see this as a put down for you. I just feel incredibly boring just reeling off facts to people when I'd much rather answer specific questions or tell them about personal experiences, if they care to listen! And we couldn't have asked for nicer weather! After 4 days of rain and cold, getting a sunshine filled, 70 degree day was absolutely amazing!

If any of my readers were there, thank you for coming and I hope you enjoyed yourselves! For the readers who haven't visited yet, schedule a visit today! We give tours every day, 3 times a day, and also do overnight hosting! So there's no excuse not to visit! I'll check back in 2 weeks readers! Enjoy your Thanksgivings! Eat and nap a lot!
