Experience/Background
I became a member of the faculty at Lynchburg College in the summer of 1977. My administrative and teaching experiences include positions as coordinator of the Instructional Program at DeJarnette Center, a state institution for children and youth with emotional and behavioral disabilities; as a school psychologist in Charleston, South Carolina; and as an elementary teacher in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Ed.D. in special education, University of Virginia

I have a Virginia Postgraduate Professional License with endorsements in elementary education, special education (LD/SED), school psychology and instructional supervision. I also have earned certification as a Trainer of Trainers in Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment Program.

Professional Interests/Research
My primary research focus is in transition needs and programs for students with Asperger's Syndrome and high functioning autism. Other interests include positive behavior supports and social skill development.
