Dr. Alicia Carter, PhD
Assistant Professor of German and Spanish
Dr. Carter holds a PhD in German from The Ohio State University and an MA in Spanish from New York University. She has 15 years teaching experience at the college level.
Dr. Georg Schwarzmann, PhD
Associate Professor of Spanish and German
Dr. Schwarzmann holds a PhD in Comparative Literature (Spanish/English) and an MA in German literature from the University of South Carolina. Before he came to the U.S. in 2002, he had finished his first and second teacher's state exam for English and Spanish in Bavaria/Germany and had taught at the secondary school level there for ten years. His book deals with R.W. Emerson's and Walt Whitman's influence on the Cuban poet José Martí. Dr. Schwarzmann has also published several articles on Latin American and English literature. His current research interest focuses on José Martí and Michel Foucault.
