Children's Art Workshop at the Daura Gallery - 9/15

Join us at the Daura Gallery on Sunday, September 15 to make stick puppets and a stick puppet theatre!

We will be drawing pictures of our favorite American heroes inspired by William Gropper's American Folk Heroes series on exhibit. Then we'll turn the drawings into puppets.

Supplies provided.

Workshop led by Kristin Reiber Harris, former adjunct professor in the Art Department.

For children ages 6 to 14. Pre-registration is required - class size limited to 12 children.

Timothy Matthews, a recent graduate of the MA Program in History at Lynchburg and a teacher at E.C. Glass, will present: “The Legacy of the African Blood Brotherhood in West Virginia 1920-1925: Reevaluating the African Blood Brotherhood and the Larger Forces that Predisposed Black Coal Miners to Engage in Radical Political Thought.”
