Our goal is to inspire and enable our students to participate in the rich experiences of a world of media convergence. Students in the Electronic Media Emphasis actively engage in writing, critiquing, producing, editing, and directing a wide range of media content.
The Communication Studies Major at Lynchburg College focuses on real-world experience, providing students with up-to-date technologies and opportunities to use them. Coursework based on individual and group productions allows students to work in simulated professional environments while learning the tools of the media industry.
Students choosing the Electronic Media Emphasis will learn to produce creative content for print and electronic media, including the Internet. Students work directly with a variety of technologies, including high-definition video cameras, television studio equipment, professional audio recording instruments, and state-of-the-art editing software.
Student productions are a staple of this emphasis, and are showcased through campus screenings, television programs, on the web, and in campus newspaper.
