In General:
Ø Each dorm room has one dial tone line.
Ø The College has assigned you a personal phone number, which will ring to your room. Each phone number in dorm room has a distinctive ring.
Ø The College has assigned you a personal voice mailbox.
Ø For local calls outside of the LC system, press 3 to get an access to an outside line, then dial the number.
Ø Call Waiting and Caller ID are active features.
Voice Mail Quick Start:
Ø Dial 26 (544-8026 from outside of the LC phone system).
Ø When the voice mail system answers, press #.
Ø Enter mailbox number – the last 4 digits of your phone number.
Ø Enter your password. New user? Initial password is your extension number.
Ø New users: Follow the prompts to change your password, record your name, and create your greeting.
Ø Do not forget your password! No one, not even the voice mail system administrator, knows what it is. Make sure it is easy for you to remember.
Voice Mail Directory:
Ø Dial 8050 (544-8050 from outside of our network) to access Voice Mail Directory. Enter the Voice Mailbox number to leave a message directly, or press 1 to spell the name of the person for whom you want to leave a message.
Network Access:
Ø In the residence halls on the main campus, including the townhouses, there is a separate data line for each student in the room. In the College-owned student houses, which are off the main campus, students must dial up to the network using the phone line in the room.
Long Distance Calls:
Ø The College has assigned you a 9-digit Long Distance Authorization Code. This code is linked to your phone account. You must use this code whenever you dial a long distance number, which is any number beginning with “1”. You are not charged for toll free calls. All charges for toll calls made using your long distance authorization code are your responsibility!
Ø Press 3 for outside line. Dial the number you’re calling, wait for the stutter tone, then enter your code. All calls made using your long distance authorization code are your responsibility! Memorize it as quickly as possible. Guard it well!
Long Distance Billing:
Ø Your monthly statement for long distance charges is accessible on the College’s website.No paper bills are produced. You are responsible for paying your long distance bill. Each month, you will receive an email reminding you to check your online statement and with instructions on how to do so. If you fail to pay your bill for 90 days, the College will deactivate your Long Distance Authorization Code until you pay the entire bill. You should make payments at the Cashier’s Office on the 4th Floor of Hall Campus Center.
Optional Features:
Ø There are optional features available for additional cost: Call Waiting ($4.00), 3-Way Calling ($3.00), and Caller ID ($6.00). The cost of a feature is charged to the roommate requesting the additional feature. If both roommates request the feature, the cost is split between them. The charge for features will appear on the tuition bill and is not charged directly to the student(s). Usually, requested features become active within the first 2 to 3 weeks of the start of Fall Semester.
