Name: Justin BassettJustin Bassett

Hometown: Fairfax, Va.

Undergraduate degree and school: Lynchburg College

What his professor says: "Justin has been an exemplary student since his arrival, and he goes above and beyond in many ways. He aids his fellow students by organizing and sharing his notes openly, he always remains completely engaged in the material at hand, and he always looks like he is having fun doing it. One of his classmates described him as follows: Justin has shown every bit of professionalism, he's one of the friendliest students in the class, he has a strong academic drive because I see him nearly every night at the building studying with others, and he seems like an honest and caring person. It has been a pleasure to have Justin in the class and we (the faculty) are certain he will continue to make a positive effect on others in school and as a physical therapist."

-- Kevin E. Brueilly, PT, PhD, program director

What sparked your interest in physical therapy? I love being around and helping people.

What's the most exciting part of the DPT program? I enjoy being able to help out in the community.

What do you hope to do with your degree? I would like to be a clinician.

What are some of your hobbies? I participate in distance running and triathlons.

What is your favorite quote? "Running is a road to self-awareness and reliance. You can push yourself to extremes and learn the harsh reality of your physical and mental limitations, or coast quietly down a solitary path watching the earth spin beneath your feet. But when you are through, exhilarated and exhausted, at least for a moment everything seems right with the world." -- Anonymous
