What sparked your interest in physical therapy?
Being involved with sports such as cross-country, track and soccer initially sparked my interest in physical therapy. It was so interesting to know what muscles were being used through my sports and injuries. Additionally, I attended physical therapy appointments with my grandfather which gave me the first hand experience of the many benefits of physical therapy.
What's the most exciting part of the DPT program?
The most exciting part of our DPT program is our "family" atmosphere within the students and faculty. I think it's pretty remarkable how so many people can come from different backgrounds and really unite together. Our academic schedule is very challenging and each week we are learning so much at such a fast pace. It's exciting to be a part of a program where my classmates work together and go above and beyond what is expected of themselves to better and help another classmate.
What do you hope to do with your degree?
As a first year student, I am interested in several different aspects of physical therapy. Currently, I am interested orthopedics, cardiopulmonary and also sports therapy but am very excited and open to grow and develop my experience with different specialties of the profession.
What are some of your hobbies?
I enjoy being active with sports and anything involving the outdoors.
What is your favorite quote?
My favorite quote, is from my grandfather who always encouraged me through my school work and studies. He said "Go in with confidence, you'll come out smelling like a rose."
Anything else that you’d like to share (i.e. something unique)?
The most important thing in my life is my family, I owe it all to them.
