Medical Facilities of America is dedicated to our students' success and wants to highlight students for their efforts! MFA selected David Pociluyko as the Student of the Month for February.

Drew PociluykoName: Drew Pociluyko

Hometown: Forest, Virginia

Undergraduate degree and school: I graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise.

What faculty are saying about him:

“Drew’s enthusiasm, for learning and the program is contagious. When no one else will raise their hand to answer a question you can count on Drew.” - George Schuppin, PhD

What sparked your interest in physical therapy?

In the 9th grade, I got injured running cross country, and had to go to physical therapy. It was there that something inside said, "Drew, you are going to be a physical therapist one day."

What's the most exciting part of the DPT program?

This might make me sound like a nerd, but I really enjoy learning all the material that we are presented with, and seeing how it fits together in figuring out how to provide the best possible care to patients.

What do you hope to do with your degree?

After I'm licensed, I hope to become super specialized in an area of interest, and own my own practice/gym. Furthermore, I really would like to develop a community wide intervention to help not only educate people how to take care of themselves, but also provide services that individuals can more readily utilize.

What are some of your hobbies?

I keep myself pretty busy. I really enjoy working out, playing guitar, painting, drawing, singing, dancing, having both theological and philosophical discussions, and the occasional video game or two.

What is your favorite quote?

"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." Corinthians 10:31

Anything else that you'd like to share (i.e., something unique)?

When I was younger, I used to be really into drama. In fact, I was planning on going to an art school for middle school, but then my dad got a new job, causing us to move to Forest, VA, where I have lived ever sense.
