What his professors are saying about him: "Bryan is a wonderful example of the qualities of a professional physical therapist that he hopes to be. He is honest, considerate, and willing to hold himself to a higher standard. He believes in doing what is right and has shown the ability to tell the difference between right and wrong. He is supportive of his classmates and is a leader in the classroom as well as the lab. He understands how to live the LC way and goes above and beyond each day."
-Stephen W. Elam, PT, DPT, CLT, Assistant Professor, Doctor of Physical Therapy
"Bryan is known for his dissection of articularis genu which was the first for LCDPT. He is valued among classmates for his hair cutting talent-mohawks. In general he calmly gets the job done."
-George Schuppin, PhD, Associate Professor, Doctor of Physical Therapy
What sparked your interest in physical therapy? My best friend Cody is a physical therapist; his encouragement was the first spark, and spending time with him in the clinic reaffirmed my decision. My Dad has also been a major motivator, as he has done extensive physical therapy after sustaining a spinal cord injury. Through his experience I have witnessed the day-to-day challenges of living with physical limitations. Something inside of me wants to share that experience with other people trying to overcome similar struggles.
What's the most exciting part of the DPT program? The relationship development between students and faculty, as well as the friendships evolving within the cohorts. We’re becoming a part of the family - and that’s just fun!
What do you hope to do with your degree? Have fun helping people feel better! Really my goal is to finish school; we’ll see where the road leads after that.
What are some of your hobbies? My passion is water-skiing, my escape is running, and my enjoyment is coffee.
What is your favorite quote? "Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide." - Tecumseh
Anything else that you’d like to share (i.e. something unique)? This is my second career. I returned to school after two years in the banking industry. I would strongly encourage anybody considering higher education to look past the overwhelming burdens of time and money. Nothing can replace the knowledge, adventure or friendships I have experienced during my journey.
