Mr. Adam Dean,
Instructor of Communication Studies
Adam Dean is originally from Clarion, Pennsylvania, and has a B.A. in media studies and international studies from Penn State University. He received his M.A. in radio/television/film from the University of North Texas, where his research focused on film and television culture and criticism. He is currently earning his Ph.D. in Media, Art, and Text at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he focuses on new media art and theory.
Mr. Dean has a diverse background in communications, with career experience as a filmmaker, newspaper reporter, web consultant, and senior editor for a global e-commerce company. He teaches Argument and Reasoning; Stage and Studio Television; Introduction to Media Technology; Media Writing I and II; Convergence Media: Broadcasting in an Internet World; and Documentary Design and Production.
In his free time, Mr. Dean enjoys creating visual and interactive art works, discovering new films, mastering new technologies, and traveling.
