William Norko, MS

Assistant Professor

Since 2006 Mr. Norko has been Assistant Professor (Mathematics and Computer Science) at Lynchburg College in Lynchburg Virginia.

He was the president of Stonehill Services, Inc., a management consulting firm in Ruckersville, VA. He worked with business owners to close the gap between the successes they want from their business – vision – and the results they are actually seeing from the day-to-day operations of their business – reality.

In 2003 Bill built-out and started the Huntington Learning Center in Charlottesville, VA. By the end of 2005 the profitable franchise was acquired by a firm from Northern Virginia that owned several other Huntington Learning Centers.

At a large global Information Technology consulting firm, he fulfilled assignments as Account Manager, Managing Director responsible for all service delivery, Branch Manager (Boston) and Sales Manager for the Northeast Area. Mr. Norko has been responsible for selling and providing professional IT consulting services to clients in several industries – Financial Services, Manufacturing, Telecommunications, Health Care, and Electric Utilities.

As the Chief Information Officer of Eastern Utilities Associates (EUA), in addition to fulfilling his responsibilities to the holding company and its subsidiaries, Bill worked with the state regulators in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He helped lead the discussions about the restructuring of the energy marketplace before the regulators and led the initial implementation of the deregulation orders from the state commissions.

Prior to working at the consulting company and EUA, Bill worked in the Insurance industry for the Travelers Insurance Companies, Mutual of New York and Agway Inc.’s wholly owned insurance company.

Bill held the position of Assistant Professor at Stonehill College for four years. He also held positions as Visiting Lecturer and Adjunct Professor for Bridgewater (MA) State College and Lesley University, respectively.

Mr. Norko attended the University of Connecticut where he earned a BA in Mathematics and a MS in Mathematical Statistics. He authored an article on Project Management for the Journal of Systems Management, and co-authored an article on IT Governance in Computerworld.
