Trout from the classroom to the wild

Friday April 30 2010

Baby brook trout raised at Lynchburg College's Claytor Nature Study Center in Bedford County will be released into Little Stony Creek at noon Saturday, May 1, as part of a nationwide education program called "Trout in the Classroom."

The Skyline Chapter of Trout Unlimited provided the equipment used for rearing the trout and is participating in the release along with Lynchburg College students. The group will meet at the Peaks of Otter picnic area on Route 43 just off the Blue Ridge Parkway at Mile Post 86.
