Gregory Martin, PhD
Experience
Dr. Martin served fifteen years as a public school teacher and coach in Virginia. He has been honored as a distinguished educator in Who’s Who Among America's Teachers, has been nominated for the LC Academic Advising Award and the Shirley Rosser Excellence in Teaching Award, and is a past recipient of the Curry Foundation's Outstanding Teaching Award from the University of Virginia. In addition to numerous publications and conference presentations, he is a project consultant, contributing author, co-author, and author of a number of college textbooks including: School Violence, the Media, and Criminal Justice Responses.

Professional Interests
Areas of interest in teaching and scholarship include pedagogical methodologies, foundations, school violence, classroom management, partnerships, and field-based teacher preparation issues. Dr. Martin is on the editorial boards of Action in Teacher Education, SRATE Journal, and The Teacher Educators Journal. In addition, he serves on two national committees for the Association of Teacher Educators. Dr. Martin has also served as speaker and consultant to various media, law enforcement, state education, and state criminal justice agencies.
