Music professors Dr. Cynthia B. Ramsey and F. Johnson Scott III and staff accompanist Matthew D. Booth ’11 will present a faculty recital on Monday, September 26 at 7:30 p.m. in Snidow Chapel.
Dr. Ramsey and Booth will perform piano works including the Overture to The Abduction From theSeraglio, K. 384 by Wolfgang A. Mozart (1756-1791); Tempo di Menuetto (F Major) and Allegro assai (C minor) from Slavonic Dances Op. 46 by Antonín Dvořák (1841-1904); and En bateau, Cortege, Menuet, and Ballet, from Petite Suite L. 65 by Claude Debussy (1862-1918).
Scott will play organ selections featuring “Lobet den Herren mit Pauken und Zimbeln schön,” Op. 101, No. 5, from 33 Portraits by Sigfrid Karg-Elert (1877-1933); Toccata and Fugue in d, BWV 565 by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750); Prelude from Suite pour Orgue, Op. 5 by Maurice Duruflé (1902-1986); Prologue from A Wartime Sketchbook by William Walton (1902-1983).
