Job Description

Responsibilities: Write, edit, and format technical documents that describe the operation, maintenance, and installation of critical communication radios and networks. Harris supplies radio systems and networks worldwide to first responders - police and fire departments, military installations, and local and state governments. The Product Documentation Management group works with engineers to document these products. The intern selected will work with a professional, experienced group of writers, learning the craft of writing for a technical audience. In addition, the intern will work with engineers to collect input and review comments prior to publication.
Skills Required: Self-starter, strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills, Microsoft Word and Office Suite, self-confidence. Experience with graphics software preferred but not required. Complete one year of college English and/or technical writing courses.

Lynchburg Republican Victory Office & Mitt Romney Campaign
The Mitt Romney Campaign and the Lynchburg Republican Victory office are currently seeking students interested in learning more about campaigning and effective public communications. Student interns will gain invaluable knowledge about the democratic process and work to become adept communicators through hands on experience with elected officials, candidates, and the general public. The internship opportunities for this Fall are open to any student; however, they must apply and be accepted. Hours are flexible, but students must be able to commit to at least 4 door shifts per week, including 2 every Saturday, and are responsible for their own transportation.
The 2012 Election Cycle promises to be action packed with the Presidential elections, one US Senate seat, and 11 US Congressional seats undergoing elections.
Eligible students will be provided with academic credit or service hours. While these positions are unpaid, they will provide political opportunities not available elsewhere. A letter of recommendation to a future employer or college will be provided upon completion of internship requirements and upon request.
Interns will be expected to assist the Lynchburg Republican Victory office with:
