Concert Choir

MUSC 022, 1 credit hour. Meets on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 5-6 p.m.

The Concert Choir members are music and non-music majors at Lynchburg College. Membership is by audition and open only to students who meet the demands of voice, sight singing, overall musicianship, commitment, and are enrolled in applied voice instruction or voice class.

The audition will consist of the following exercises:

  • Sing “America, the Beautiful” or other familiar folk tune.
  • Dr. Kim will ask you to listen while 4 or 5 notes are played on the piano, which you will be asked to sing back. This is to check your pitch and rhythm memory.
  • Finally, sing one short sight singing exercise.
