Established in 1997, the Center for Family Studies and Educational Advancement offers parenting classes and family education programs to Lynchburg College students, private and public schools, and parents throughout the Central Virginia area. Parents learn positive discipline skills, methods to encourage their children and enhanced communication skills. The Center also provides a variety of special programs of interest to families.
The primary objectives of the Center include the following:
- Training counselors and teachers to help parents expand discipline and communication skills
- Working with private and public schools to provide parent education programs
- Providing special programs to link the College with parents and families in Central Virginia
