Prior to joining Lynchburg College, Kathy Johnson served as the Dean of the Centra College of Nursing in Lynchburg. She brings her experience with both initial institutional accreditation and nursing program accreditation. She has developed curriculum for nursing programs as well as overall program assessment and evaluations. Mrs. Johnson has over seventeen years of experience in teaching medical surgical nursing and also served as an Assistant Dean for Curriculum and Instruction.
She received her bachelor of science in nursing at Lynchburg College and her master of science in nursing from the University of Virginia. She is certified in Orthopaedic Nursing and is a member of the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses and a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She is currently completing her doctorate of education with emphasis in higher education leadership from Walden University.
