Beverly Rhoads, MFA

Associate Professor of Drawing and Painting


Beverly Rhoads, a native of western North Carolina, is a studio artist who has been painting from the figure and landscape for over 25 years.

She has exhibited nationally in museums and galleries such as Blue Mountain Gallery, New York City; Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions, Los Angeles, Calif.; Woman Made Gallery, Chicago, Ill.; Asheville Art Museum, Asheville, N.C.; and Moore College of Art and Design, Philadelphia, Pa.

Rhoads earned her MFA in painting from the University of Pennsylvania in 1989 and her BFA from Western Carolina University in 1983. She attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 1989 on a full fellowship.

Rhoads currently serves as an Associate Professor of Art, teaching painting and drawing. She maintains a studio in Central Virginia and in Roque Bluffs, Maine.
