Application for Our Chapter
University of Lynchburg is applying for a chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. PBK recognizes excellence in the liberal arts and sciences (humanities, social science, and science).
The University of Lynchburg Phi Beta Kappa faculty and staff have formed the UL PBK Organization to focus on and highlight University of Lynchburg’s achievements in the arts and sciences.
Arts & Sciences
At University of Lynchburg, “arts and sciences” will mean all the fields of study in our Schools of Humanities, Sciences, and Social Sciences, plus Art History and Museum Studies (all in the Lynchburg College of Arts and Sciences), and Economics from the School of Business.
We refer to this as UL’s Virtual School of Arts and Sciences for the purposes of PBK reporting.
UL PBK Organization Members
All UL faculty members, staff, graduate students and local graduate student alumni who were Phi Beta Kappa at their undergraduate institutions are automatically UL PBK Organization members.
- If you are a new professor, staff member, or graduate student or local graduate alumnus and are PBK, please notify Laura Marello at marello@lynchburg.edu as soon as possible.
Peaks of Otter Phi Beta Kappa Regional Alumni Association
The Peaks of Otter PBK Alumni Association is our regional PBK association for community members who are PBK. The Peaks of Otter Association has 45 members. They sponsor local get-togethers and activities. Three members are currently participating in a monthly book club.
