Experience
Originally from Pittsburgh, Dr. Langett worked for several years at a marketing-communications firm for clients in the technology, healthcare and education sectors. Prior to his appointment at University of Lynchburg, he taught communication courses at Duquesne University and Robert Morris University.
Education
Dr. Langett earned the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) certification from the Public Relations Society of America, and holds a BS in public relations from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University, an MA in corporate communication from Duquesne University and a PhD in rhetoric from Duquesne University.
Teaching Areas and Research
Jeremy Langett teaches a variety of public relations courses and serves as the faculty adviser to the University of Lynchburg PRSSA chapter. He also teaches core requirement courses for all communication majors. Dr. Langett’s research explores the philosophy and ethics of strategic communication.
Dr. Langett has presented research at statewide, regional and national communication conferences and is published in numerous academic journals including the International Journal of Strategic Communication, Journal of Mass Media Ethics and the Atlantic Journal of Communication.
