Professional Interests
Dr. Carter’s research interests are decidedly diverse: from 19th-century etiquette books and didactic poetry, to fairy tale themes in the media, to the interplay of music and literature.
In recent years, Dr. Carter has embraced the challenge of acquiring another language: Spanish. She attended New York University’s prestigious one-year master’s program in Madrid, Spain, completing her MA in the summer of 2011.
