Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care Seminar – NCCDP

Whether you want to increase your knowledge or pursue certification as a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), this class is for you. This class meets one of the requirements for becoming a Certified Dementia Practitioner. You must be certified or licensed in a health care profession or related field to apply for CDP certification.

Certified Alzheimer’s Disease & Dementia Care Trainers

Denise Scruggs is a Certified Activity Director(ADC), Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) and a Certified Alzheimer’s Disease & Dementia Care Trainer (CADDCT) for the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners/ International Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. Denise has more than 20 years of experience in dementia care, both personally and professionally. Her experience includes work in activities, social work, family caregiving, consulting, and memory support program management.

Denise serves as the director of the Beard Center on Aging and is a member of the advisory council for Virginia’s newly formed Institute for Innovations in Caregiving.

Kathleen Cresson, RN, CMC is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) and a Certified Alzheimer’s Disease & Dementia Care Trainer (CADDCT)  for the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners/ International Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. She has been working with persons with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias for over 10 years. Her position as a Health Care  Manager/RN at the Adult Care Center of Central Virginia has afforded her opportunities to work with many families as a Certified Care Manager to guide them through the steps along this journey.
