Lynchburg College is accepting applications for a full-time Public Services Librarian who will also be the liaison to the School of Education and Human development. The position will begin July 1, 2012. Key responsibilities include: providing - users with reference and information services; collection management for the disciplines of counseling, education, and leadership studies; instruction to students and faculty in both individual and group sessions; faculty in the School of Education and Human Development with library-related support needed for curriculum-related or research activities; exercise oversight responsibilities for the services, collections, and staffing associated with the Curriculum Lab located in the library; and participation in night and weekend staffing for the provision of reference and information services.
A Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited program, experience in providing reference and information services, including individual and group information literacy instruction sessions and at least three years of relevant experience are required. Candidate must pass a background check that is satisfactory to the College.
