Assistant Professor of Religious Studies
Lynchburg College invites applications for a full-time
appointment in Religious Studies to begin August 2010 at the
assistant/associate professor level. There is the potential for a tenure-track
position. The Ph.D. and evidence of effective teaching are required. We seek a
broadly trained teacher/scholar in either Hebrew Bible or New Testament who is
also prepared to teach courses beyond the areas of specialization (e.g.,
theological/ethical studies, World Religions, religious history). The ability
to teach courses in biblical archaeology and ancient near Eastern culture and
history is desirable. Ongoing scholarly research and publication are
