Assistant Professor of
Public Relations
The School of
Communication and the Arts at Lynchburg College invites applications for a
tenure-track faculty appointment of Assistant Professor of Public Relations
effective August 2010.
The Assistant Professor
will teach courses in public relations (i.e., introduction to public relations,
crisis communication, media and campaigns, writing for public relations); courses
in the communication core (i.e., public presentations, interpersonal
communication and/or small group communication); participate in the development
of new courses in the major; conduct research and/or creative work in the
candidate’s area of expertise; participate in academic advising and
service. Position is contingent upon the
successful completion of a background check.
The doctorate in Public Relations or related field is required to
achieve tenure and Assistant Professor ranking; ABD candidates may be
considered. Qualified candidates should possess
a record of teaching, scholarship and service commensurate with the
appointment. Professional public
relations/organizational communication experience is desirable.
